Painting the Fresco Earrings
The Fresco starts as a plain wood rectangle. In this video, Sarah paints it by hand, working burnt orange and olive green onto the faces so the color shifts as the earring turns.
The color block pattern is what gives the Fresco its structure, and getting a clean line between two colors takes a steady hand. Once the paint is dry, the corners are sanded back to bring out the textured lines along the edges, then the whole piece is glossed. It finishes with stainless steel hypoallergenic earring hooks.
